Friends of the Environment

Under this Project, the children will be involved in an annual environment activity to make them action oriented leaders and will also be given workshops on environment conservation in the Child Leadership Training sessions.
Some interesting activities that the Co Founders of the Seplaa YLCI have been a part of are:
  • Being a part of the nationwide ‘SEPLAA Recycled Water Bottles  for Flood Victims’ Campaign’ August 2010-November 2010 A Unique Cost Effective Drive to help the Flood Victims! The Campaign was about recycling for a cause by collecting empty water, coke/ Pepsi, juice bottles; washing them very well; filling them with filtered water and then putting a Health sticker on top. This method was used to provide clean drinking water to devastated victims of the Pakistan Floods 2010 during the months of August, September and October. Over 6000 water bottles were collected and distributed amongst flood victims under this project.

The kids loved collecting empty water bottles for the flood victims. Here’s a picture of a child flood victim who drank water from one of such bottles and finished it in one go because it was so hot in Southern Punjab and the people were desperate for clean drinking water:

  • Attending several interactive environment workshops arranged by the SEPLAA Foundation that taught these kids the value of this earth and its resources.
